Our story:
Combining our extensive experience and qualifications earned in the United Kingdom, Canada and Jamaica we apply our knowledge to meet the challenges and aspirations of our clients, each of whom have uniquely different stories.
When we established Nicholson Phillips as a boutique law firm in 2000 we had a clear vision: to offer quality legal services to local, international and diaspora communities in a manner that would match or even outpace their experiences with some of the larger firms. We succeeded. In under two years our combined portfolio had grown by over 240% and with the implementation of the latest in administrative systems, and continuous in-house training, our clients began to regularly comment upon our efficiency, our response times and how friendly and helpful our team was. During our combined 55+ years of practice our legal knowledge and skills have deepened significantly. And, we have added breadth by working with in-house and external counsel when needed, to add even greater value in terms of legal and business knowledge. This enables us to offer strong, pragmatic and effective solutions to the wide variety of challenges and opportunities our clients come to us with.
Our client profile comprises approximately 20% international, 40% diaspora & 40% local and come to us from a range of industries and professions. They include property developers, tourism investors, retail, distribution, manufacturing, agro-processing, NGO’s, public bodies, a range of business proprietors and individuals from various professional callings.
No two clients are alike, and neither are their stories. Therefore each client requires the application of a clear analytical mind to frame a legal solution designed specifically for the client’s circumstances, culture and desired outcome. This is something only extensive experience and knowledge can provide. Once that solution is designed, we execute it with the efficiency and no-nonsense pragmatism that we have become known for.
