Lorna Phillips is the consulting partner of this two-partner law firm located in the heart of the business district in Kingston, Jamaica, and a highly experienced corporate/commercial attorney of over 30 years with a wide repertoire of experience in deal transactions, especially those involving real property. 

She began her practice working with a large corporate/commercial firm in England, cutting her teeth in transactional matters with varying levels of complexity for medium to large blue chip companies and high net worth individuals. Since her migration to Jamaica, her practice has been exclusively in commercial matters (sometimes cross border in scope) in a manner that has earned her a reputation for practical application of legal principles while skillfully navigating cultural differences for maximum achievement of her client’s aims.

Her current clients include property developers, financial institutions, high net worth overseas investors, international companies and business entrepreneurs.

Education & interests

Lorna earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Birmingham and her Masters in Development Law & International Economic Law from Warwick University in Coventry, England. 

Lorna Phillips is a member of the consumer protection tribunal of the Consumer Affairs Commission and recent past Deputy Chairman for Jamaica Mortgage Bank. A forward-thinking innovator and advocate for the advancement and development of both social and legal systems, she writes on business law matters for overseas interests, is published by the Center for International Legal Studies, is a regular contributor to the World Bank publications on doing business in Jamaica.

She is the Chairman and co-founder of BACK2LIFE Foundation, a registered charity dedicated to meet the needs of boys and young men deemed to be at risk.
