Manley Nicholson is co-founder and a Partner of Nicholson Phillips, Attorneys-at-Law, and heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group with responsibility for practice development.
He is a professional with over 25 years’ experience as a practicing Attorney-at-Law in Jamaica and over 30 years as a Real Estate Broker/Dealer in Ontario, Canada and Jamaica.
Education & interests
A Canadian trained lawyer with undergrad studies at York University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Canada, he obtained his Bar Convocation from the Law Society of Upper Canada, to be conferred a Barrister & Solicitor at the Ontario Bar. In 1996, he obtained his Certificate of Legal Education, from Norman Manley Law School and is a senior Advocate/Litigator in the Courts of Jamaica.
Manley Nicholson’s former Board Directorships include the Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ), Jamaica Urban Transit Corporation (JUTC), The Trade Board and School Chairman of Mona Heights Primary; and present memberships include Jamaica Developers’ Association, Realtors Association of Jamaica, Rotary Club of Kingston (Past President), and Board Member of the BACK2LIFE Foundation, a mentoring group for at-risk boys and young men, he is an Ambassador of the Governor-General “I Believe” Initiative.
Legal publications appear in the Center for International Legal Studies, the Jamaica Gleaner, and the firm’s series of periodicals.
